Aroma: brine with pepper, orange peel and smoke. Oily wood with some eucalypt, wax with honey. With water lemon and vanilla notes are more present, also wax and honey.
Palate: peppery, with orange jam and juice notes. Honey and oak. Wax with some salt and peat. Lemon drops with pepper and pear. With water we get more citrus fruits, wood, wax and some peat. Finish: robust, with wax, smoke, oily wood and peppery notes. Warm and long. very pleasant.
Comments: I like such a style. Springbank rarely dissappoints. IMHO, one of the most recognizable distilleries in term of character and syle. In a good sense, for sure.

The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
