Single cask from Springbank, of of my favorite distilleries is always good. Clear it's character is usually recognisable in eiter official or indie bottling. Thanks to Master of Malt for the sample. This one was aged for 19 years in a hogshead #129. Release of 221 bottles.

Aroma: citrus fruit, wax with honey. Finished wood, resin. Tangerines with cloves. With water I get more citrusy notes, wax is also more present. Some ash, smoke and brine.
Palate: marimite character, lots of wax with honey, ripe fruit and pepper. Dry oak is here. Wax, resin, charred wood. With water coastal character becomes even more present. Spices and wood polish mixes up well. Finish: dry oak tannins, eucalypt and wax. Bit of ash and charred wood.
Comments: one more interesting and quality malt from Springbank. Maybe not for every evening, but it should enrich the collection of robust coastal style lover.

The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
