Aroma: roasted malt and dried seaweed. Vanilla and lemony notes. Really too strong to nose it without water. With water I have citruisy side very nicely open. Also malty, smoky notes are more elegant with some hints of smoked bacon notes.
Palate: drying, salty, minty, lemony. Nice balance of salt and lemon. What else.. Ashes, grass, herbs, cured ham. Also trace dried figs, nuts and raisins. And then full of smoke and ash again. With water profile is more or less the same, just much more fresh with lemon playing the first. Finish: long, hot, salty and smoky. Ash, lemon and yellow raisins.
Comment: huge power and my loved profile of salt and lemon. Just that trace of dried fruits is bit strange - do I like narrow, but clean profile more than variety? In this case - yes, I would like just smoke, salt and lemon with hint of grass.

The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
