Laphroaig 25 Year Old
- Distillery: Laphroaig
2007 gentle version (not cask strength as usual)
Aroma: gentle notes of lemon, grass, wood and medicinal smoke. Needs some time to open up really. Palate: fruity. Apple peel, cinnamon goes great with gentle smoke and sea brine.Good balance of fruit and salty character. Finish: salty, typical pungent Laproaig with sherry and fruit notes. Comments: maybe higher strength can give more expressiveness, but this time whisky is delicate, elegant and in it's full harmony. Nice connection of fruits, sherry and saltiness.
The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
