Aroma: very strong at the beginning. Wood polish, dry smoke, nuts. With time more smokiness and maritime style shows up. Orange peel, roots, earth, butter, toffee, burnt sugar. With water maritime character opens up completely with notes of tobacco, leather and seaweed.
Palate: dry smoke notes complemented with lemon drops, grapefruits, leather, black tea and pecans. Orange peel and peppers in great harmony. Such a different profile comparing to Triple Wood or Quarter Cask! With water smoke and fruits are even more into perfeect harmony complemented with pepper and salt. Nuts and leather afterwards. Finish: dry, long, with notes of pepper, salt, black chocolate with orange peel.
Comment: wonderful nose. Please give him time and water. Chaps from TWE have found perfect cask!

The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
