Aroma: sweet peat, oysters, sea salt, damp wool, engine oil, rubber. Lemon and peppers are also present here. With water lemon and smoke notes comes up nicely, also smoked pig skin.
Palate: salty, with notes of lemon, wood polish and peppermint. Lots of salt, clean coal and distinguished fireplace. Bitterness of grapefruits with traces of pepper and aniseed. With water: more of citrus fruits and sour fruitiness. Finish: salt, citrus fruits.
Comment: clean and maritime. I love this style. Neat is nice, but water is accepted also very well, can be diluted much if necessary. Not the richest character around, but nice concentration and reflection of distillery character. Maritime, balanced for robustness and suitable for any gentle smoke lover.

The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
