Aroma: maritime, damp leather, dry wood - like horse saddle near the sea. Sherry side comes in - nuts, cinnamon. Very elegant aroma despite the strength. With water I get more citrus fruits - orange syrup, fresh lemon notes with bit of sea breeze.
Palate: sherry in it's prime - pleasant notes of nuts, oranges, pepper, cinnamon, burnt sugar and chocolate. Water is not obligatory, but is recommended. With water notes of wood, smoke and oranges are even more elegant. Finish: bit salty, with notes of leather and chocolate.
Comment: mid-aged Bunnahabhain, matured in a sherry butt is never disappointing, just boringly great.

The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
