Ardbeg Galileo 12 Year Old 1999
- Distillery: Ardbeg
Matured in bourbon and marsala casks for 12 years. Name was inspired from Ardbegs collaboration with space scientists researching gravitation influence to maturing process.
Aroma: gentle smoke with nuts, sawdust and salt. Fresh with some lemon peel and fruits. Palate: smoky, with lots of pepper, lemon zest, grapefruit. Nice long aftertaste. Comments: good one, but not impressive. Good quality, but other Ardbegs are better to my taste.
The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
