Aroma: meaty and smoky.Cured ham, orange peels, caol smoke, ashes. Bit of sweet peat and oriental spices. Ginger, tangerines, seaweed and iodine.
Palate: peppery, with sweet lemon and vanilla notes. Smoky and meaty again. Cocoa and leather. Full bodied and warming, it's more like ligthouse for dark autumn evenings than a dark night itself. Finish: long peppery, full of smoke and leather with coffee. Iodine and ginger.
Comment: love it's thickness and deepeness. One of the better Ardbegs  I had recently (slightly better than Perpetuum).

The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
