Ardbeg 17 Year Old 1994 - Mission
- Distillery: Ardbeg
Bottler: Murray McDavid
Bourbon cask matured, edition of 306 bottles.
Aroma: sweet and fresh. White pepper, peat, smoked ham and pig skin. Some brine and coal notes. With water - more fruits and pepper. Really tasty. Powerfull and fresh. Palate: peat, leather, citrus fruits, zesty. Salt ant traces of flowers. No oak. Finish: salty, smoky, long and warm with notes of smoky and lemon. Nice. Comments: robust one. But really fresh. Sweet at the beginning, later comes more and more salty. I have rare occasions to get indie Ardbeg and I don't know if I am big fan of this distillery, but this malt is just fine.
The ratings system that we use is based on personal opinion and reflects only a personal momentary impression about the tasted whiskey. We do not represent any producers of whiskey and we are not in the whiskey business ourselves. However, we have our personal sympathies for particular whiskeys. We are human, therefore the ratings that we give are subjective. Furthermore, they are given with comparisons to other whiskeys in mind. We decided to use convienent and widely used 100 points system.
